I WANT TO HAVS MORE!

My family had this weird havaianas addiction. Just realized today when we talked about the things to pack up for our upcoming trip... So to satisfy my curiosity, I gathered some havs that we wore, and added those which are kept int the closet.. LOL. I have this set... this inspired me though to collect more havs starting from now on...
This next picture is the pair that I want to buy next...=P

I also visited Havaianas website today and read about its origin. I learned that havaianas means "Hawaiians" in Portugese. The design of this staple is inspired by Japanese Sandals known as the "ZORI". Havaianas have been the flipflops used by Brazilians for decades. Sao Paulo Alpargatas is the company that designs, manufactures and markets this famous flipflops. Its popularity spread beyond Brazil. Since then, 2 Billion Havaianas were produced.

Here in the Philippines, the popularity of Havaianas started in 2003. Since then we have viewed flipflops differently. It has become a status symbol for some. Flipflops in the new perspective are not anymore confined in the home or beach, its trend and radical mind-set transformation made every Filipino believe that it is cool wearing it anywhere and matching it to any clothes. =)
