Admission Vacation

Getting sick is definitely a halting event. But for my Kuya A, he sees it more as time for relaxation than a weakening experience.

Last night, we brought my Kuya A to Davao Doctors Hospital because of a moderate leg pain caused by gouty arthritis. He's been complaining about this for a week now, yet this is the perfect time for him to be admitted because he does not have work. According to him, he will use his hospital privileges with the use of his MAXICARE. He was even boasting about this health insurance card matching with glee as detected. Well that's my kuya, despite the agony, he still finds comfort.

What struck me from his statements is this "Tam, ang room na nacover naa cable and ref?". "Paki-check daw?". LOL, Never thought that a patient experiencing pain could still think about his room. LOL. I love the ADMISSION VACATION mindset! But even though my kuya is acting like a tourist throughout, I like how he manages to be strong given an ugly scenario.

So here I am, doing some nursing stuffs to him. Never thought that my family would rely so much on what I can do, especially now that I already passed the exam. *sigh* Questions then pop in my mind. One of these is my "capacity to be an effective nurse", can I actually be one?

I hope so, cause honestly, I was not able to take a good nap last night!

Good morning!
